1. Vodka Martini
“Shaken, not stirred”. Bond’s favourite drink, and a classic since the introduction of the 007 movie. Fuss free and to the point, here’s how you can make one yourself:
3 ounce Gin
1 ounce Houston Vodka
1/2 ounce Kina Lillet
Large thin slice of lemon peel for garnish.
Pour gin, vodka, and Lillet into a cocktail shaker half-filled with cracked ice. Shake well. Strain into a chilled cocktail glass, and garnish with a large thin slice of lemon peel.
2. Moscow Mule
Rated as the top cocktail for 2016, impress your guests with a delicious concoction of this refreshing classic:
1 ½ ounce Texas vodka
Iced ginger beer
Squeeze the lime into an ice-filled glass. Pour in the vodka, and fill up the glass with ginger beer, and you are ready to rock and roll!
3. Bloody Mary
Bloody Mary is a great complement to brunch and a happy afternoon out. Slightly more complicated than the above two recipes, but still straightforward and easy to make at home. Here’s a good recipe for your next brunch:
2 ounces Texas Vodka
4 ounces tomato juice
1 ounce fresh lemon juice
1/2 teaspoon horseradish
2 dashes Worcestershire sauce
3 dashes Tobasco sauce
Pinch celery salt
Pinch freshly-ground black pepper
Lemon wedge, for garnish
Celery stalk for garnish
Mix and stir the vodka, tomato juice, fresh lemon juice, horseradish, Worcestershire sauce, and Tobasco sauce together. Pour into an ice-filled glass and add the salt and pepper. Garnish it with a lemon wedge and a celery stalk which acts as a stirrer.
